The Game of Life
The Game of Life is a mathematical puzzle or construct invented by mathematician John Conway. It consists of a very basic set of rules applied to a grid of cells. On each "generation" of the game, the rules get applied to the grid and then the grid is adjusted to match the results of the rules application. The simple set of rules can create extreme complexity at larger scales. The Game of Life has been used to build simple computers, and has even been used to build itself in an emulator such as this one.
Our version is much simpler, but offers a few different options to control. We also introduced a life span to the cells, so that living cells will eventually "die off". You can click on the grid at any time to set or clear a cell.
